Job Title: VP Engineering - QA, System Test, and Automation
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to join Nutanix as the VP Engineering - QA, System Test, and Automation. As the senior executive overseeing the Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products and services, with a specific emphasis on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hypervisors, storage, filesystems, and networking. This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will manage large teams, oversee managers/directors, and contribute to the growth and development of senior leadership within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Quality Assurance department, managing large teams and overseeing managers/directors responsible for specific areas of QA, system testing, and automation.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive quality assurance strategy and roadmap for system testing and automation, focusing on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hypervisors, networking, filesystems, and storage.
- Collaborate closely with other senior leaders to align quality assurance efforts with overall business goals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services that meet customer expectations.
- Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the QA organization, promoting the growth and development of senior leaders and high-performing teams.
- Drive the establishment of quality standards, processes, and best practices for system testing and automation, ensuring adherence across the organization.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of test frameworks, tools, and automation scripts to enable efficient and effective testing and verification of system components and functionalities.
- Provide guidance and support in conducting risk assessments, identifying potential quality issues, and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies related to IaaS, hypervisors, networking, filesystems, and storage, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in quality assurance practices.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the growth and development of the organization, including the identification and nurturing of senior leadership talent.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven leadership experience (10+ years) and technical experience (12+ years) in quality assurance, system testing, and automation, with a focus on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hypervisors, networking, filesystems, and storage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large, geographically dispersed teams and overseeing managers/directors, with a track record of building and developing high-performing senior leadership.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in IaaS platforms, virtualization technologies, hypervisors (e.g., VMware, KVM), networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN), filesystems, and storage technologies.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing system test strategies, plans, and test cases in complex, enterprise-scale environments.
- Expertise in developing and maintaining test frameworks, tools, and automation scripts using languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, JIRA).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify and prioritize testing needs and risks effectively.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $319,2 00 and $478,800 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
