VP, Global Corporate Communications

Overview:
THE ROLE: The Vice President, Global Corporate Communications is responsible for the Company’s global communication strategy, leading all aspects of external and internal communications including written, oral, digital, and creative communication with various audiences including the general public, media, analysts, collaborators, key opinion leaders and employees. This role is responsible for the proactive, strategic positioning of the Company and identifies and mitigates global issues that pose a risk to the Company’s reputation.

The VP is responsible for leading the Company's global position on key topics and platforms and driving the Company’s editorial strategy across channels. This responsibility includes having a consistent company narrative to increase trust with various audiences. The VP defines and drives a global content and distribution strategy, sought at developing content targeted at external partners, in support of the company narrative, nutrition and business opportunity.

This role also works closely with the regional communication leaders to align on strategy, provide standard methodologies, and ensure accountability. The VP also ensures messaging and content are global and shared with regional teams.

HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
  • Develop and implement global public relations/media strategy to further bolster company reputation and build credibility, advance our nutrition and business offerings, and head off potential risks.
  • Build and implement an internal communications strategy to ensure employees feel supported and recognized, are aligned on company priorities and in the know.
  • Develop and implement communications strategy supporting company’s social impact including the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation and corporate social responsibility initiatives and sustainability.
  • Provide strategic corporate communications guidance to distributors worldwide and maximise their input, expertise and reach for corporate communications initiatives.
  • Develop and manage close relationships with business units and senior management to bring consistency to messaging; establish regular feedback loop.
  • Build and implement a global content and distribution strategy that defines our corporate narrative and includes key company assets on who we are, what we care about, our products, business opportunity and distributors.
  • Build and manage communications plans and an integrated editorial calendar, incorporating all channels and audiences and paid distribution and advertising.
  • Develop and lead an executive communications strategy supporting the CEO and other senior executives, using their voice to share our company narrative and key initiatives, both internally with distributors and employees and externally.
  • Develop thought leadership strategy and counsel executives and experts on thought leadership content opportunities, speaking engagements, media and social media.
  • Lead a Communications Center of Excellence to support regional communication teams and goals
  • Lead and implement financial media strategy, including communications for major financial events and company achievements and build relationships with business media and investor facing press.
  • Define and deliver a global corporate social media strategy and ensure all activity is aligned with corporate and regional business objectives.
  • Define strategy for company’s digital presence including building and maintaining new corporate website and managing online reputation including search campaigns and SEO.
  • Drive creative direction and produce original content to a very high standard; edit materials produced by others for internal and external publication.
  • Build strong contacts with key industry partners, analysts and reporters.
  • Support regional corporate communications colleagues and establish regular feedback loop.
  • Build and curate a global content repository, including blogs, photography, bylined articles, fact sheets, corporate profile, web content, infographics, videos and other communications materials.
  • Regularly gather and analyze insights, trends, earned conversation and coverage, and metrics on content consumption, usage and effectiveness.
  • Implement and coordinate effective approval flows to ensure accuracy and consistency of all messaging and content.
  • Develop and oversee a productive structure that encourages creativity and collaboration.
  • Identify, implement and manage any supporting technology or infrastructure needed.
  • Reasonable travel and some weekend work will be required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM: The team is comprised of experts in fields of communications and works with others to raise the profile of the company. The team also works with colleagues around the globe to ensure messaging and priorities are aligned.

Qualifications:
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-motivation is required.

  • Ability to prioritize workload for effective implementation.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years communications and public relations experience with extensive work crafting and implementing strategic Public Relations programs.
  • Proven track record of crafting strategic content programs across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Extensive management experience in a matrix environment.
  • Extensive experience in media and social media
  • Internal corporate communications and agency management experience.
  • Experience working with and counseling senior management and consumer product marketing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Team of Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Digital & Creative VPs/Directors/Managers.
  • Agencies and freelance resources.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
