VP Health & Life Sciences Strategy

This senior-level role is a hybrid of strategy development and execution, business development, and direct client support. It will report to the VP of Client Partnerships and primarily be responsible for implementing the current HLS strategy, adjusting the strategy as necessary to respond to changes in the market and at the company. Work with business development, synergy partners, and other practice leads to achieve corporate goals around Health & Life Sciences which encompasses pharma/biotech/med device, health insurance, health systems, and non-traditional players such as digital health companies and retail healthcare.

This includes:

• Executing on current annual strategy and evolving it based on market and corporate evolutions
• Industry research, interviews, and writing
• Help deliver monthly updates to the internal team and quarterly education on the health industry across various parts of the organization
• Provide input in on expanded high-value service offerings for the HLS vertical
• Provide SME support on sales calls with growth teams across the organization and help create RFP responses, pitch decks, and SOWs
• Create thought leadership pieces and participate in industry-specific events to help continue to grow BORN XDS’ reputation in the industry
• Occasionally serving as CX/Strategy lead on key HLS accounts, ensuring that the client has the best possible experience with BORN XDS’ as we deliver strategic design projects and that the projects align with clients’ strategic goals. Organically grow and develop strong relationships within the account outside of the projects.

Candidates should have the following experience

• At least 15 years relevant experience with a range of HLS clients, in a combination of agency and client roles. Work experience across multiple segments within HLS is preferred with a holistic knowledge of how the various segments work together and the unique issues facing the various sectors.
• Demonstrable knowledge of key challenges facing each sector of the industry and the impact of emerging technologies such as AI, 5G/Edge, etc.
• Proven track record of creating thought leadership, service offerings, developing strategy, leading accounts, and delivering high quality work in the strategic design space.
• Deep experience in a key segment of the industry, e.g. life sciences, health insurance, digital therapeutics, and/or patient support is a plus, as is a proven track record in business development.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in public speaking and presentations and working with multicultural teams. Experienced in presenting at conferences.
• The ability to consult with clients on strategic design needs.
• Collaborative working style that can work across a range of people in a variety of disciplines.
• Thorough understanding of the strategic design space.
• Adept at engaging with senior clients and their teams
• Willingness to work extended hours with offshore partners and travel at least 25%
