Key Responsibilities:
Act as a liaison between Danaher operating companies to coordinate innovation strategies
Serve as the primary alliance point person for internal collaborations for the Nexus Program
Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives
Lead to assure common understanding of the process and project goals
Handle communication of budget, schedule, resource management, and overall performance of the projects
Identify and implement countermeasures in instances when projects are overdue or not hitting anticipated targets
Establish strong internal alliances, working cross-functionally with colleagues in Danaher operating companies with respect to project plans, and communicate progress towards deliverables
Evaluate opportunities to create new value streams by combining multiple concepts from our operating companies and determine optimal strategies to advance and maximize financial returns
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and novel metric models to evaluate the success of internal collaborations and return on investment
Coordinate with key stakeholders to define a short and long-term strategy to enable sustainable innovation in key strategic areas
In collaboration with the legal team, develop IP strategies to ensure robust protection of key technologies being developed
Lead creation of real-time monitoring and analysis of KPIs, developing standard reporting models to aid decision making around project strategy
The Successful Candidate
Be able to drive seamless execution and management of innovation initiatives with a clear path for new product creation and potential for financial returns
Have a deep business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more technology, business, sales, and/or product domains
Have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others to maximize the impact of innovation and advance IP and new product concepts to commercial readiness
Have a demonstrated track record in basic and translational research, in driving innovation initiatives, and in cultivating and supporting talent growth
Have demonstrated experience in building, implementing, and refining project and program management processes as well as alliance management experience with industry collaborators or across business units
Be proficient using various project, program, and collaboration management tools
Be adept in managing communication and goal alignment in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
Possess excellent skills in oral and written communication, trust building, influencing without authority, and conflict resolution
Key Experience:
10+ years of experience in innovation strategies, new concept creation, prototyping, project management, and cross-functional, matrix teams
Deep understanding of the Life Sciences and Diagnostic tools industry
Proven track record in leading, managing, and training teams and driving innovation initiatives for multiple technologies at various stages of development
Understand go-to-market strategies including pricing, marketing, and creating/leveraging of key sales capabilities
Organizational and strategic management skills, including strategic vision, executive/marketing communications (written, verbal, and presentation) and planning/forecasting
Outstanding conversational, presentation, and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, mobilize people across the organization, and to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience in designing, executing, and managing innovation initiatives with multidisciplinary teams of scientists
Proven experience in Program Management and Alliance Management processes for internal R&D activities (Project Management Professional or Alliance Management certification is preferred)
Education:
Advanced degree in Science, Engineering or Medicine (Masters, Ph.D. or M.D.); MBA a plus
The salary range for this role is 230,000 to 285,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
