YOUR ROLE
Enact is seeking a VP, Investment Strategy to create and lead our investment portfolio strategy. The role will report to Enact’s Chief Financial Officer and partner with Enact’s external investment managers including Genworth’s Investment Management team to recommend strategic and tactical investment opportunities focused on fixed income. The role will play an active role in the supervision of the asset/liability matching needs, risk/return objectives, regulatory requirements and governance documents. The VP, Investment Strategy will provide insight, collaboration and direction intended to optimize investment portfolio decisions aligned with business objectives and in compliance with established constraints.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this position, the ideal candidate will possess a sound understanding of investment strategies, policies, regulations and guidelines, demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal) across various levels of the organization, and maintain a strong professional work ethic. Additionally, must have the ability to drive outcomes through collaboration with diverse teams and construct and manage optimized investment portfolios.
- Establish effective investment strategies and well-organized investment processes
- Communicate business needs, risk appetite and regulatory constraints to external asset managers to aid in the development of strategic and tactical asset allocation
- Implement strong investment strategies, analyze market trends and identify new investment opportunities
- Create investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis
- Construct successful investment portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends
- Create investment reports, benchmarks, peer comparisons and reviews to inform management and Enact Board on investment progress
- Develop deep understanding of Enact business results inclusive of business cash flows and liaison with external investment managers to incorporate into investment strategies & decisions
- Partner with FP&A in the development of Enact’s financial forecast related to invested assets and investment income and explain variances to plan
- Remain up-to-date with any important valuation or policy changes
- Develop and maintain investment management relationships
- Manage Enact Investment Committees via agenda & content development. Provide informs and seek approvals as necessary.
- Active participant in Enact Management Capital and Investment Committee
- Interface with Treasury, Investment Operations and Investment Accounting functions
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in business, finance, investment or a related field preferred
- A minimum of 10+ years related experience
- Extensive knowledge of investment & risk management
- Strong experience motivating a team of investment professionals
- Strategic thinker and proficient decision-making
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills with strong ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner
- Strong understanding of insurance, accounting and regulatory issues the drive investment management decisions
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
