Job description:Client is looking for a driven Sales and Use Tax Accountant to join our accounting team focused on support to our staff and its affiliates with all tax matters related to Sales and Use Tax, Property Tax, Business Licenses and Annual Reports.Your Role:· Preparation of the U.S. state's sales and use tax returns utilizing Avalara software.· Preparation of the monthly sales tax reconciliations and annual property tax reconciliations.· Researching customer inquiries regarding the appropriate sales and use tax treatment of products and services purchased and responding accordingly.· Analyze transactions and provide sales tax guidance to business associates for proper tax classification.· Resolve and respond to notices from local jurisdictions regarding sales tax and property tax matters.· Assist with sales and use tax voluntary disclosure projects with various jurisdictions.· Lead sales and use tax audits· Assist with income tax compliance and tax provision preparation when necessary.· Stay connected with tax regulations and laws.· Help to maintain general ledger including the preparation and maintenance of journal entries.· Help with other accounting departments when needed.· Prepares management reports as directed.· Maintain and file IFTA tax and company vehicle registrations.Benefits:· 401(k)· Bereavement leave· Dental insurance· Health insurance· Paid time off· Vision insuranceSchedule:· 8 hour shift· Monday to FridayExperience:· Tax experience: 3 years (Required)License/Certification:· CPA (Preferred)
