Position Description:


We are looking for an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our ICE team to improve infrastructure in our Asheville offices. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering and zero to three years of experience. Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation In Roads is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills are essential. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment. 


Typical responsibilities include:
  • Design various site development projects including commercial, institutional, and residential plans from concept through construction including the following: Site planning; Site grading; Site balancing; Storm water design; Horizontal and vertical design of underground utilities
  • Obtain jurisdictional approvals/permits
  • Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards
  • Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
  • Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks
  • Monitor task budget and progress
  • Conduct on-site observations as needed
  • Maintain multiple project assignments
  • Verify field survey notes
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Assist Project Managers
  • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment


Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required


Skills/Experience:
  • 0 to 3 years of related experience required
  • Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation In Roads is preferred
