Position Summary...What you'll do...At Walmart, we help people save money so they can live better. In this role, you will be leading a team that enables Merchandising deliver for our customers the items they want with EDLC. Part visionary and part strategist, you'll leverage the scale and access of the Walmart system to truly impact the business and the lives of millions of customers worldwide. Along the way, you'll be guided by our deep-rooted culture with the support and tools you need to do your best work.Your team supports acceleration of critical Supplier Programs, developing the strategy, aligning cross-functional stakeholders and leading the execution across the organization. Examples of focus areas to drive EDLC include accelerating the delivery of Walmart's supplier program to simplify how we work to serve our Customers, as well as working with multi-functional teams to develop strategy, align leadership and execute critical programs such as Category Advisor and Supplier Training reinvention.As a Merchandising Director, your expertise, vision and strategy will allow you to see the products you buy come to life in stores and online. Leveraging your advocacy and negotiation skills with the access and scale of the Walmart system, you'll make a direct impact on the business and help families all over the world save money and live better.You'll sweep us off our feet if you can...• Accomplish the above goals, will require the ability to lead and manage multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.• Develops, prioritizes, and executes key business strategies and communication platforms by managing cross-functional initiatives that impact store and corporate processes; developing merchandising programs and initiatives, customer and company communications, and associate training content; making recommendations for system support developments; recommending merchandise priorities for store operations; and translating merchandise strategies for assigned departments into executable programs for store operations.• Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.• Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.• Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.• Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
