Position Summary...What you'll do...Manager, Finance - SEC ReportingThe Manager - External Financial Reporting reports to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting and collaborates very closely with the team in supporting our external SEC filings. This is a tight-knit team that works together in achieving our goals. We collaborate with other teams within the Global Controllership, including Consolidations, Technical and others, as well as Investor Relations, Legal, Tax, Treasury and Segment Accounting and Finance teams. This role has high visibility to executive leadership and tons of growth potential!Job Description:• Assists with the Form 10-Q and Form 10-K reports filed with the SEC by obtaining supporting documentation and performing tie-outs; Prepares key financial schedules and dashboards to present to senior leadership. Assists with the quarterly earnings process, including review of executive scripts and other earnings materials; obtains supporting documentation and performs tie-outs• Oversees financial reports, balance sheet accounts, and financial audits by analyzing financial data; comparing data to third-party information, budgets, or actual results; researching and reviewing research of balance sheet account variances; discussing business impacts to the profit and loss within accounting rules (for example, generally accepted accounting principles); presenting results to senior leadership; ensuring audits are managed for timeliness and accuracy.• Manages accounting operations by researching emerging trends and standards of external governing bodies ; utilizing knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards to perform financial statement analysis and accounting; identifying, correcting, and reporting discrepancies in financial statements and accounting transactions to ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and statutory filing procedures ; and collaborating with external stakeholders to review and validate financial documentation.• Ensures reporting compliance by developing, communicating, and ensuring consistent application of policies, rules, and regulations, reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting internal financial statements and supporting documentation for compliance with accounting and reporting regulations and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act.• Drives the execution of multiple ad-hoc projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating project plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.• Manages complex control structures to mitigate risk of financial misstatement by examining and monitoring at various stages; participating on cross functional teams to develop new processes; ensuring proper controls are present in new and existing financial functions; and working to enhance reporting transparency of company financial systems.• Contributes to a team-based work environment and ensures diversity awareness. Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.You'll sweep us off our feet if...• You have a bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting• You are a CPA with 2.5-5 years progressively responsible experience, including experience in public accounting with a large firm working on U.S. public companies• You have knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations• You possess the ability to work in challenging environments and manage well through tight deadlines and competing priorities• You demonstrate strong critical thinking and the ability to connect the dots and derive conclusions from your analysis• You are extremely meticulous, accurate and inquisitive• You have experience using Word, Excel, Outlook• You are an excellent communicator, written and verbal• You are a team player• You are proficient in Wdesk (Workiva) or similar for reporting 10-Qs, 10-K, and 8-Ks, including working knowledge of XBRL• You have working knowledge of ERP and consolidation systems• You have demonstrated experience working and collaborating cross-functionally and multi-nationally• You are a proven self-starter• You are a storyteller - an expert at making complex subjects easily understood through compelling stories and visuals• You have ambitious standards and can hold business partners accountable• You are stimulated by challenges and are ready to engage at Fortune 1 scaleYou'll make an impact by:• Supporting timely SEC filings, including 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and 8-Ks in accordance with SEC and US GAAP requirements• Presenting monthly financial information to leadership• Benchmarking against other public company filings and disclosures• Creating and maintaining calendars/checklists to inform parties of necessary responsibilities and deadlines related to 10-Q/10-K filings, including all certifications and representations• Supporting worldwide external audit and quarterly filing process through analysis and compilation of data on a quarterly and annual basis• Communicating disclosure requirements to global controllership, including coordinating data requests• Partnering with legal counsel and investor relations to ensure accuracy and completeness of external communications• Supporting SOX compliance process• Performing weighted average shares calculation for EPS• Providing interpretation and governance of financial reporting disclosure policies• Promoting and supporting company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrityThe above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
