Position Summary...nWhat you'll do...n• *** Immigration sponsorship is not available in this role .****nWalmart Global Tech is looking to hire a Principal Software Engineer (Backend Focused) for their Marketplace Engineering team in Sunnyvale, California. An ideal candidate must have expertise in Java, strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures, cloud application development, automation tools, CI/CD pipeline, and a proven understanding of microservices and REST APIs .nAs a part of Walmart Global Tech, you will build industry defining seller and customer experiences in growing the marketplace platform. You will be in the unique position to bring a broader impact to the Walmart's customers and sellers by providing insights and intelligence on marketplace related transactions and provide capabilities to associates in supporting all segments of Walmart. We do this by managing the entire seller lifecycle, monitoring customer experience, and deliver high- value insights to our sellers to help them plan their assortment, price, inventory. The team also actively collaborates with partner platform teams to ensure we continue to deliver the best experience to our sellers and our customers.nWhat you'll do :nn• nProvide deep technical expertise and thought leadership that helps accelerate adoption of the absolute best engineering practices, while maintaining knowledge on industry innovations, trends, and practices.n n• nLead and participate in medium to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions, gathering requested information, writing, and developing code, and conducting unit testing. Communicating status and issues to team members and stakeholders.n n• nDeveloping highly scalable services to process millions of requests per day and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology.n n• nGaining exposure to various technologies used in Marketplace and E-commerce platforms .n n• nDesigning and developing backend microservices and APIs for web applications using JVM ecosystem (Kotlin, Java) and other languages and frameworks (Python, Go)n n• nCollaborate with project teams and cross functional teams. Troubleshoot open issues and bug-fixes, ensuring on-time delivery and hand-offs. Interact with project manager to provid e input on project plan.n n• nTroubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information (for example, issue, impact, criticality, root cause), engaging support teams to assist in the resolution of issues. Formulate action plans, performing actions as designated in the plan. Interpret the results to determine further action, perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrence of issues and complete online documentation.n n• nProvide support to the business by responding to users' questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies) . Facilitate resolutions and lead cross-functional partnerships.n n• nDriving projects of high visibility across the organization.n n• nLeading team in designing systems and appsn n• nLeading team projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions while gathering requested informationn n• nLeading the discovery phase of projects to come up with high level design by partnering with the product management, project management, and business and user experience teams.n nnWhat you will bring :nn• nMaster's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 10+ years of experience in architecting large scale systems with challenges of scalability and delivering sub-second latencies on 99.99% uptime.n n• nExpertise in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python , etc)n n• nStrong background in algorithms and data structures.n n• nProven understanding of microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIsn n• nExperience with cloud application development including scalable, data driven, Cloud Cost-optimization and message-oriented architecture.n n• nUnderstanding of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS industry with hands on experience with public or private cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GAE, Azure)n n• nExperience using any of the automation toolset like Appium, Selenium, Jira, Rest Assured,AssetJ , Gatling, etc. or equivalent tools is a plus.n n• nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
