Position Summary...What you'll do...We are seeking to hire a Manager/Sr. Data Scientist - Emerging Technology Governance to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in data science with an ability to understand technical model components, coupled with a robust compliance skillset. This role requires both an understanding and experience as a compliance professional (drafting policy and procedures, evaluating regulations, developing controls and mitigating risk) as well as background in data science.What you'll do...• Utilize data science knowledge to understand, implement, and improve technical model components. This includes applying machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization to interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights. The candidate will also be responsible for cleaning and validating data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and uniformity. Proficiency in software languages such as Python, R, and SQL will be beneficial. Develop and test code using programming languages such as SQL, Java, C++, Python, and apply appropriate testing methods. Validate analytical models, employing model fit testing, tuning, and validation techniques to assess accuracy and robustness of models.• Draft, revise and implement compliance policies and procedures in alignment with current regulations and industry best practices.• Interpret and implement regulations pertaining to the company's operations and data management.• Develop and implement effective controls to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations.• Monitor the effectiveness of controls, making necessary adjustments and improvements.• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify areas of concern.• Drive training and awareness initiatives to ensure all team members are aware of compliance requirements and procedures.• Coordinate with different departments to facilitate compliance across the organization.• Stay current with changes in regulations and industry standards, and update policies and procedures accordingly.• Provide reports and updates to management on the status of compliance-related activities and initiatives.What you'll bring...• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.• Proven experience in a compliance role.• Strong understanding of data analysis, modeling, and interpretation.• Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations relevant to emerging technology.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Strong organizational and project management skills.• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.The above information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed in the role.
