Position Summary... What you'll do... This person defines and shapes a clear, long-term vision and roadmap for strategic partnerships in the global business environment and paint a compelling picture of new opportunities for strategic partnerships while offering unique insights related to business, market and finance trends. Uses insights to lead and influence change at the strategic, tactical, team and individual levels across the organization. Forecasts future states of the business, customer and competitor behavior affecting strategic partnerships. Anticipates economic conditions and provides strategic insights on how to mitigate impacts of changing conditions on the Walmart's strategic partnerships. Develops different perspectives of the business model (for example, risks, innovations, investments) to maximize opportunities, minimize risks, and identify and focus on future critical areas for the strategic partnerships area. Establishes relationships with internal/external stakeholders to set the strategic direction for Walmart+ frameworks for the strategic partnerships area. Determines the impacts of emerging business models and sponsors initiatives to deliver optimal responses. Provides thought leadership, developing ideas and guiding stakeholders through choices and decisions. Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning. Defines metrics to track and evaluate customer engagement and customer demand to assess the viability of current and future strategic partnership initiatives. Oversees portfolios of business relationships with various internal and external stakeholders who represent long-term growth opportunities for the business. Ensures the success of strategic partnership deals by leading discussions on the historical backgrounds and future perspectives of business development. Provides guidance of key strategic, financial, operational, and reputational risks and assumptions related to strategic partnerships using strategy frameworks, and a deep understanding of customer requirements. Negotiates complex contracts at the highest levels of partner organizations. Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent. Builds and maintains collaborative and strategic alliances with a wide range of partners across the business and industry. Leverages partner support to drive business programs and priorities in the area of strategic partnerships. Provides insights on the impact of cross-functional team collaboration on achieving strategic goals for the strategic partnerships area. Coaches and supports team members to identify solutions to deliver improved services, solutions, and relationships. Promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices. Monitors the industry for fresh approaches, benchmarks industry best practices, and adjusts approaches in response to changing business needs. Engages and converts the most critical and complex negotiations. Demonstrates the ability to develop and execute effective negotiation strategies that enhance long-term relationships and benefits for all stakeholders at the enterprise level. Develops objectives and establishes tactical approaches for negotiations (for example, defining new pricing models, new ways of contracting). Uses persuasive arguments to influence others and advocate for a win-win approaches to negotiations while meeting all timelines. Presents to broad audiences, positioning arguments/data with well-structured stories. Builds consensus in controversial and sensitive situations and presents conflicting points of view to others in a fair and constructive manner. Connects strategic business priorities, leveraging data and analytics, financial acumen, and problem-solving techniques to build a cohesive narrative.
