Principal Data Analyst - Global TravelAbout the Team:We are a diverse team made up of members from around the globe that support both Procurement and Travel Operations. Our goal is to support our Global Enterprise Business by leveraging discounts and rates to deliver maximum savings and value.About the Position:Walmart’s Global Travel organization is looking for aPrincipal Data Analyst.As a primary steward of our company, you’ll engage with multiple global teams while working alongside a global operational forward-thinking team. Reporting to the Director of Sourcing, you will primarily support the Global Travel Procurement team with developing strategies, data, analysis, reporting, technology, visualization, and insights.Key Responsibilities:Leverage programming languages and tools used to manipulate, analyze, visualize, and draw insights from big data sets (e.g., SQL, Python, R, MS PowerBI, Tableau, Tableau Prep, Dataiku, Big Query, etc.).Develop dynamic dashboards and reports in response to the needs and priorities of designated Internal/External stakeholder(s).Collaborate with the Global Travel Procurement team to provide analytics to support supplier RFPs.Provide insights and innovation across functional workstreams.Demonstrate effective communication skills (written, verbal, presenting, and visual) to influence stakeholders to implement fact-based recommendations from actionable insights.Follow competitors, consumer trends, and market dynamics impacting supported categories.You’ll Sweep Us Off Our Feet If…You have a background supporting travel, finance, or corporate compliance teams with analytics and data governance.You have a strong understanding of statistics and advanced analytics.You possess strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.You have sound knowledge of managing data for experiments (sampling, labeling, EDA, etc.).You have skills in SQL and “Big Data” queries (i.e., Hive or Google Big Query).You have experience with data visualization and reporting using Walmart’s preferred tools: Tableau, Looker, or Power BI, Finalytics.You have strong people and communication skills to connect authentically with internal stakeholders.You are curious, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Bonus Points If You Have…Experience transforming innovative ideas into practical analytics solutions.At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet.
