Job Summary:
The Supplier Quality Lab Technician is responsible for performing high accuracy measurements on a variety of supplied and internal components to verify conformance to specification.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Inspection and data collection for supplier components to requirements
• Provide measurement support for Supplier Quality Engineering and shop floor personnel• Utilize MSA and other statistical tools in support of issue resolution• PPAP review for new parts and revision changes• Participate in development of quality documents including SQL work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures.QualificationsPreferred Skills/Abilities:• Self-motivated and able to accomplish responsibilities with minimal lead person intervention in a fast-paced environment• Forward thinking individual capable of improving Sun quality objectives.• Exhibit a high-level work ethic incorporating the Sun philosophy and Core Values• Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately measure and record results• Confident and knowledgeable of various dimensional measuring instruments such as:• Basic Hand Gages (Calipers, Micrometers, Bore Gages)• Air gages• Comparators (Optical & Manual)• Surface finish analyzers and Profilometers• Test indicators• Tool Makers Microscope• Roundness checker• CMM• Hardness measurements• Etc.• An understanding of drawings, GD&T and a working knowledge of the decimal and metric system• Ability to work through problems with suppliers and internal stakeholders to determine root cause and follow through corrective actions• Report generating and statistical calculations in various applications• Understanding of AIAG PPAP process and documentation associated (Control Plans, FMEAs, Material Certifications, etc)• Strong interpersonal and communication skills• 7-Basic tools of Quality: Check sheet, Control charting, Flow/Run chart, Pareto, Histogram, Fishbone, Scatter diagram• 8D Corrective Action• Understanding of importance and process of calibration of gages• Capability Analysis: Machine / Process capability, Attribute, etc.• Gage R&R: Variable / Attribute• Microsoft Office proficiency• Statistical process control• Travel up to 5%Education and Experience:• Associate degree or two or more years of experience in a dimensional quality position• Lathe, Milling, grinding, plating experience preferred• A working knowledge of SPC• ASQ CQT (Certified Quality Technician)preferredPhysical Requirements:• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time• Ability to lift 35 pounds
