Th team develops supply chain strategies and roadmap to lead the allocation of capital, and develop intelligent decision engines that enable digital orchestration of the physical networkWhat you'll do:The CENTROID Data Science team develops intelligent solutions to make highly visible and big impact decisions in Network transformation at Walmart. The work includes solving problems such as Ambient and Perishable inbound network design, middle mile network flow optimization, last mile delivery and returns design, inventory placement, transportation, and monetization strategies to provide Walmart a competitive edge in the medium to long term. We primarily employ various techniques from operations research to classical machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, causal inference, and statistics. Our work is innovative and is published in top tier conferences and journals. You will be part of the team that won the prestigious INFORMS Franz Edelman award in 2023.What you'll bring:• Ph.D/M.S. in a quantitative discipline such as Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, with up to 4 years of relevant work experience.• Be able to leverage your thesis in Operations Research or Statistics or an equivalent quantitative field involving math programming techniques, stochastic programming, statistical and/or machine learning methods.• Experience with one or more of optimization toolkits/libraries like CPlex, Gurobi, XPressMP or open-source solvers.• Strong software development skills in languages such as Python and familiarity with machine learning libraries such as Scikit, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras.
