The Creative Director is charged with maintaining the brand standards of the Archdiocese of Atlanta as well as the design and production of printed and digital materials for the offices and ministries of the chancery. The position requires collaboration with ministry leaders to determine the best strategies and tactics to promote and support their events, programs, and initiatives. The creative director must be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once and oversee the design and production of all materials.The Creative Director reports to the Director of Communications for all editorial direction, workflow determination, and personnel matters, such as salary, hours, and performance appraisals.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Maintains and updates the corporate identity/branding/logo of the Archdiocese of Atlanta.Designs printed materials such as advertisements, brochures, letterhead, business papers, newsletters, branded clothes and other specialty items, digital and video graphics, certificates, and internal publication materialsOversees production or publication of printed and digital materials, including managing vendor relationships, deadlines, and budgetsObtains, organizes, and summarizes information needed for the development of published materialsSupports activities related to website developmentAssists other departments with communication tools and skills when requested. Ensures their material conforms to brand standardsAssists schools and parishes with publications, advertising, and print needsStays abreast of current design standards and print technologiesPerforms other duties assigned by the Director of CommunicationsRequired Education /Experience:Bachelor of Arts or equivalent degree with broad humanities background and major in a creative discipline (art, music, literature, theatre/performing arts, photography, film). A minor in communications, journalism, computer, or marketing is desirable.Experience as a Creative Director in a comparable size organizationExperience developing creative solutions for advertising, corporate communications, product marketing and promotion, branding and collateralRequired Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of the Catholic faith and the North Georgia Catholic communityExcellent communication skillsGood interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills.Strong conceptual skills and creative problem-solving ability.Graphic design/art direction skills, as well as a working knowledge of print, Web, and video production methodologies and techniques.Strong writer and communicator.Ability to communicate technical information through non-technical verbal and written communications.Ability to prioritize so that goals and deadlines are met.Working knowledge of The Associated Press Stylebook, Libel Manual, and Catholic News Service Stylebook on Religion a plus.Ability to negotiate and handle a job from concept to completion.Consistent attention to detail.Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Suite, including InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred but not requiredWork Environment:General office environmentMust be able to stand, sit, talk, hear regularly, and have use of both hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboardMust be able to sit at a computer for an extended periodLight to moderate lifting may be necessaryExcellent writing and verbal skills (business conversation ability with numerous phone calls, clergy, and guests)Comments:The work week for this position is generally 37.5 hours on a year-round basis; however, the position requires a willingness and flexibility in work hours when necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
