We’re looking for a Head of UX to lead the design of Wahoo’s innovative device and software product ecosystem. The experience an athlete has when they interact with Wahoo’s products is crucial to our success and this role is a key driver of that experience. The ideal candidate for this role will possess deep experience in leading the user experience design for a successful consumer products organization. In this role you will lead Wahoo’s UX function by driving user experience design direction and strategy with senior leadership, providing leadership to a team of developers / designers, and working cross functionally to make Wahoo’s user experience strategy come to life for our athletes.Are you excited about the challenge of leading Wahoo’s user experience? Then throw your name in the ring!In this role, you will:• Build and lead a team of UX designers, including interaction designers, visual designers, animators, prototypers, design researchers, etc.• Perform/direct studies to analyze users’ journeys to identify pain points and discover opportunities to delight consumers in new ways.• Lead the UX team to deliver intuitive and delightful product/feature workflows across all Wahoo consumer touchpoints including devices (computers, trainers, other sensors, etc.), apps, games, subscription services, web interfaces, and more.• Work closely with engineering, industrial design, and product management to define customer benefits, evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions, and help balance priorities across multiple projects.• Lead the UX team to create a variety of deliverables throughout the development process like wireframes, visual designs, user flows, prototypes, etc.• Organize the UX team’s workflow to align with the development team’s workflow in terms of planning and implementation.• Explore future concepts and ideas along with the product management, engineering, and industrial design teams.• Provide development guidance to UX team members across a variety of disciplines so they can learn and advance in their careers.It’s really important that you have the following:• 10+ years experience developing user experience designs for successful consumer software products.• Ability to form a vision and lead cross-functional team members toward a goal.• Experience in organizational management / managing UX team members at scale, including managing outside agencies to augment internal design teams.• Proven track record of leading organizations to elevate the importance of user experience in the product portfolio• Demonstrated depth of software development understanding across web, mobile apps, desktop apps, cloud, and device software.• Experience solving interaction design challenges on web interfaces, apps, and connected device software.• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment and take responsibility to deliver on key priorities.• Experience collaborating with industrial design teams on the user experience for connected devices.• Strong educational background in a design-related field (product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, etc.)• Experience in organizational management / managing UX team members at scale, including managing outside agencies to augment internal design teams.• Experience with managing UX team members who are part of agile software development teams.• Fluency with design-related tools and technologies, such as Figma, Zeplin, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.• Experience collaborating with industrial design teams on the user experience for connected devices.• Strong educational background in a design-related field (product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, etc.)Ideally, you would also have:• Experience working on software products or connected devices for large consumer brands.• Experience with subscription business models.• Education in a related technical discipline (computer science, etc.)• Masters degree or Ph.D. in a design-related field (product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, etc.
