Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Warehouse Specialist for our Dallas, TX location. This position will report to our Operations manager and is a unique opportunity to make an impact for the Power Tools and Lifting division within the Materials and Customer Service function.

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform a variety of shipping, receiving and material handling tasks that contribute to manufacturing productivity gains and support a superior level of customer satisfaction. Work effectively with other departments in a team environment and provide rapid response to changing priorities and customer requirements. This role oversees shipments to ensure goods move on schedule; holds freight-forwarding providers to on time delivery; and assures all international shipping documentation is complete, meeting legal requirements and enabling goods to move


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The responsibilities of the Shipping and Receiving Clerk include the following job duties. The responsibilities are not limited to these tasks


  • Perform a variety of shipping, receiving and material handling tasks that contribute to productivity and support outstanding customer service.
  • Use a variety of shipping software and systems to manage freight shipments and to track inventory.
  • Pick, pull and put away materials from designated locations to support production for our service team and sales team.
  • Visually inspects incoming pieces/parts for compliance and obvious damage/informing Quality if necessary
  • Unload and load delivery trucks at a safe and efficient pace using forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, etc.
  • Cutting lumber to specifications and using hand tools to assemble dryer shipping crates.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Work safely and maintain department and individual work areas to Housekeeping Standards at all times.
  • Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more repetitively
  • Some prior experience with Forklift and/or heavy equipment operations and able to become certified on forklift and other material handling devices
  • Computer literacy and ability to read, write and interpret instructions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Read and accurately use a tape measure
  • Prior experience in material handling desirable
  • Able to use computer and/or barcode scanner to learn business computer systems
  • Able to work overtime if needed

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; (secondary education is a plus)

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions in English, correspondence, and memos, such as supervisory instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.
  • Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100'S
  • Ability to perform these operations using all units of measure

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, the ability to adjust focus, and depth perception.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, to machining oils/coolants from handling coated tools and containers, and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA’s permissible levels of exposure.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places when using a ladder or operating the man-lifts.

Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs. Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 d BA, depending upon what area in the plant the employee is workin
