A Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a warehouse and monitoring the productivity of its staff. Warehouse Supervisors often work in busy environments where priorities can change at a moment’s notice, so an ability to multitask is and delegate is essential with this role.
You’ll make significant contributions in the following areas:
- Leads the effort to implement best practices within job scope; expected to participate in activities designed to improve production, quality and safety.
- Adhere to all established safety procedures to include use of all personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Responsible for coordinating and supervising work of assigned employees including receipt, storage, and shipment of Company products ensuring methods and procedures meet regulatory and safety requirements.
- Prepares work schedules, establishes work priorities and assignments, and modifies assignments in response to workload demand or staffing shortages in order to provide adequate coverage.
- Supervises work of assigned employees to ensure quality and productivity standards are achieved and maintained.
- Works with employees to identify and correct work not meeting standards and assists department management in establishing productivity standards.
- Responsible for administering and communicating policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Company requirements and governmental and regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for supervising assigned personnel. In doing so, interviews, recommends hiring of, orients, trains, assigns work to, evaluates the performance of, and, when necessary, recommends disciplinary and termination action.
- Assists Manager in monitoring physical inventory, conducting inventory and cycle counts, reviewing and completing necessary manifest and transport documents, and monitoring daily operations.
- In conjunction with department manager, administers and ensures adherence to department safety standards and recommends solutions and improvements for safety problems.
- Assists Manager in gathering and analyzing data for special reports as requested.
- In the absence of personnel or due to unusual workload demands, may perform duties of subordinate personnel.
- Maintains regular personal attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.

What you’ll need
- High school diploma or equivalent required or an equivalent combination of education and pertinent industry experience
- BS degree preferred.
- Approximately two to three years progressively more responsible, related work experience necessary in order to gain knowledge of distribution and customs procedures, learn to coordinate work of others, and become familiar with product inventory requirements (lot control, rotation, etc.).
- Ability to write in order to prepare reports, to read in order to review orders and schedules, and to perform simple arithmetic calculations when reviewing distribution schedules and so forth at a level normally acquired through completion of high school.
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
