Responsibilities
- Shipping Documents: Ensure all documents are input into the computer on time and all shipping documents are finished on a timely basis. NAFTA papers must be properly completed and returned on time. Assign proper material classification to shipments.
- Transportation: Enforce check procedures for preparing order and loading truck. Communicate with carries for best discounts to reduce the amount of freight charges. Comply with all export requirements.
- Inventory Control: Maintain check procedures upon receipt of finished goods and raw materials. Ensure daily recovery of finished goods. Work with QC on reinspections and make sure stock is returned as necessary. Coordinate cycle count activity to support minimum 98% inventory accuracy in finished goods and receiving warehouse.
- Stock: Maintain stock locator system and FIFO.
- Equipment: Ensure that all equipment is safe and operating properly.
- Housekeeping: Keep shipping/receiving area clean and organized at all times.
- Personnel: Enforce company policies and procedures, assign daily work, verify time and attendance.
Qualifications
- High school education, College degree with focus in logistics (preferred)
- 3 yrs shipping supervisory experience.
- Experience in shipping, traffic, knowledge of imports/exports and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
- High level of commitment and flexibility
- Willingness and ability to work all shifts
- Willingness and resilience to meet the physical demands of the position
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and consistently changing environment
- Must be computer literate
- Must maintain good communications with plant personnel and customer service
- Must be able to work under pressure
