The Role

The Senior Product Manager, Product Development is an experienced product leader who provides strategic support for Waterworks core line of business, plumbing (Fittings). This role leverages proven strengths in product development to empower the product team and drive transformational change in the roadmap process and decision-making framework across all product projects.


The Senior Product Manager confidently represents Waterworks' flagship product category, partnering with the Merchandising & Management Team to achieve objectives, key projects, and effective communication throughout the organization, inclusive of product roadmap and launches.


Location

This is a hybrid role that requires in office presence at the Danbury, CT office 2 days per week.


Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership

·       Collaborate with Product Leadership and internal cross-functional stakeholders to drive accountability, outcomes, visibility, and impact for the product roadmap

·       Develop and maintain exceptional relationships with all external vendors and partners


Roadmap Leadership

·       Lead projects and assess team capacity based on explicit understanding of the roadmap, supporting the foundational success of all product development investments

·       Act as a roadmap liaison to cross-functional teams, confidently representing category decisions and bringing feedback and support needs to Product Leadership


Team Development

Establish and prioritize team objectives to help develop a strong, effective product development team 


Product Strategy

·       Lead product development for Fittings across all sales channels and markets, contributing directly to the category growth strategy

·       Oversee timelines and flow of critical information between internal and external stakeholders for all development projects, including roadmap updates to Leadership

·       Deliver optimal product assortment in partnership with Fittings Merchandising & Management to support Waterworks' global merchandising growth strategy

·       Partner with Product Leadership, Engineering, and Finance team on project budgets, including planning expenses, one-time investments, and budget maintenance for duration of projects

·       Collaborate with Fittings Merchandising & Management, Store Design and Construction teams to define and drive timely implementation of product display strategies across all sales channels


Cost & Data Management

·       Lead the RFQ process, including cost and MOQ negotiation with vendors, with expertise in cost construction

·       Collaborate on product price strategy to support merchandising and  product margin targets

·       Ensure accuracy and definition of product data information, including taxonomy, attributes, product associations, and feature statements across all systems

·       Lead timely resolution of product related support tickets

Product Assets & Training

·       Oversee development and maintenance of all product visual assets, including photography and renders

·       Lead creation and maintenance of internal and client-facing product documents for marketing and training use

·       Oversee product training content development and delivery for The Well, supporting sales training initiatives for product launches and other key projects


Quality & Compliance

·       Support Engineering and Quality Control to uphold Waterworks standard of product excellence

·       Proficiency in LOB compliance requirements, partner with Compliance & Engineering teams to ensure all products comply with domestic and international standards


Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8-10 years of Product Development and/or Product Management experience 
  • Experience with the development of a technical, complex product required
  • Understanding of tooling and supporting operational processes a key area of focus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite, including Excel; smartsheet experience a plus
  • PLM experience required
  • Domestic and International vendor and development experience required
  • Domestic and international travel required up to 30%
  • Luxury product or brand experience preferred
