Wayflyer is revolutionising eCommerce by levelling the playing field for founders across the world. Our first product, the Merchant Cash Advance, solves a major pain point for brands: access to short-term finance to fund inventory and marketing spend. Since launching in April 2020, we’ve deployed over $3.3bn in funding to over 4,000 eCommerce founders across 11 countries.
We’ve helped companies like Wild, Dock & Bay and Branch take their businesses to the next level. Check out this video from Davie Fogherty, another one of our brilliant customers, giving a great explanation of what we do and how we helped The Oodie go from strength to strength.
We’re a fast-growing, venture-backed startup that serves a critical need for eCommerce entrepreneurs. You'll be joining an ambitious, collaborative team that's working on a huge opportunity.
We announced our Series B in February 2022 raising $150m in funding at $1.6bn valuation; backed by world-leading VCs including QED and DST Global.
Teams at Wayflyer are truly cross-functional. Regardless of your role at Wayflyer, you'll work with a variety of different disciplines and teams from around the world on a multitude of challenging projects and game-changing products to revolutionise the eCommerce landscape.
Starting and growing a brand is brutal and building a great product is just the first step. Once you launch, you immediately compete at the global level and very few of the existing economic support systems are built for your scale and type of business. You have to go at it alone.
We want to help founders worldwide reach their potential. Today we identify brands ready for growth and back them with cash advances. Tomorrow we’ll not only identify brands ready for growth but help even more brands reach growth readiness and in addition to backing them financially, we’ll offer a suite of products for sustaining growth so founders feel like they have a team at their back.
That’s where you come in: we’re hiring a diverse set of designers of many disciplines, skills, backgrounds, and specialties to join our growing Research & Design (R&D) team. The R&D team works across most projects at Wayflyer – from our brand voice and website, to internal tools, and customer funding applications. From ideation to build, we ensure Wayflyer continues to deliver a holistic & high calibre user experience from end to end.
As you read this ad, if you think you tick a lot of the boxes, but not all of them, we’d love to hear from you anyway, especially if you’re a woman or were raised in a culture that makes you underplay your achievements.
As a product designer in the Funding Team, you will own the experience that empowers eCommerce founders by having fast, frictionless, flexible financing ready when they need it. We want you to help improve the quality of our customer experience, so that working with Wayflyer is as user-friendly as ordering a pizza.
This is a unique opportunity to work on the customer facing apps that have deployed billions in funds to thousands of eCommerce businesses globally. The potential for you to make real impact for users and the business is huge.
This role is looking for a middle-weight product designer looking to grow their skillset in a startup working alongside more experienced UXR and Product Designers to help shape the long term direction of our funding product. We’re expecting this person to grow in the role, so you are likely to be an early-career designer looking for that step-up role, to join a larger design team, or a very recently promoted middle-weight seeking to broaden their skills and experience. You’ll have a keen eye for visual design and understand the importance in investing in the smallest detail or micro-interaction, and how this adds up and builds trust in our brand.
Experience in B2C, fintech, or agency is a plus, but passion and a willingness to learn and collaborate are way more important. If you get energised by wrangling complexity into beautiful, user-friendly products, we want to hear from you!
Optimising user experience. Support the design of key features. Use visuals and prototypes to explore solutions and establish clear experience goals that address customer needs.
Cohesive User Journeys: Collaborate with other product teams to ensure a seamless and effective user journey across all touchpoints. Amplify Wayflyer's brand through a unified user experience.
Craft exceptional experiences. Help develop exceptional user experiences, from initial concepts to polished mockups. Utilise continuous testing and iteration to refine your designs, working closely with more senior designers, product managers, engineers, stakeholders, and the design system team to bring your vision to life.
Transparent Communication: Clearly communicate your design intent and vision early and often. Help the team find the right direction through open communication of ideas.
Collaborative Design Culture: Participate in weekly design syncs, critiques, and R&D meetings. Your "first" team is the funding product team, but we all collaborate to elevate user experiences across Wayflyer.
Data-informed Decisions: Partner with the funding product team to identify UX improvements that drive key business metrics.
Effortless User Experience: Craft innovative features and interactions that make Wayflyer as user-friendly as ordering a pizza. Ensuring all design work adheres to Wayflyer’s design standards, focusing not only on intent and UI specifications but also on creating a high-quality experience for our customers.
Problem-solving portfolio: Examples showcasing web or mobile SaaS where you solved complex design challenges and created user-friendly, delightful experiences. We'd love to see the work you’re most proud of - demonstrating your passion for detail, interaction & UI design skills.
2-3+ Years of Product Design: a minimum of 2 years of experience in product design (UX/UI), ideally within the Fintech, B2C, or B2B space.
Collaborative at your core: You have a proven track record of successful collaboration with developers, product managers, and other designers on building products and services with intricate requirements. You share early and often, and involve the right people at the right times.
A visual eye: You possess a strong sense of visual design, with an eye for layout, visual impact, motion on a page, colour, typography, and iconography.
Good judgment: You’re developing the ability to make well-informed decisions and know when to go fast or slow down.
An effective communicator (be it spoken, written, visual, or dance - that’s up to you) who can persuade and excite others around design concepts.
Open to diverse perspectives: You have strong opinions, loosely held. You present your ideas clearly and concisely while welcoming constructive feedback, and are open to and value a variety of viewpoints backed by data and experience.
Self-starter: You're an entrepreneurial and resourceful individual who takes initiative to contribute to team and company goals without needing constant direction.
Proactive learning: You actively seek feedback and maintain a curious nature, striving to create an unparalleled user experience and continue to upskill yourself.
