About the Opportunity:
DMI, LLC is seeking a Web Developer. The WebFOCUS database is Maryland AIDS Drug Assistance Program’s (MADAP) primary client management resource. The WebFOCUS software environment was not kept current as it was planned to move from WebFOCUS to Salesforce. Currently the MADAP staff is supporting with migration and upgrade work. According to the project plan the scheduled time to complete this project is June 2024. This position will assist and support the MADAP staff to complete the project
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains a website.
2. Creates web pages by converting existing word processing, spreadsheet, database, or graphic files,
formatting new documents, or entering information into web-authoring software.
3. Edits web page code created by automatic conversion of other documents to correct mistakes made in
conversion, using web editing software.
4. Assists other staff in the development and maintenance of web-based projects application interfaces.
5. Develops and maintains style sheets, graphical content, and layouts that are used on multiple web pages and
sites.
6. Converts text to HTML format.
7. Creates and refines graphics for web pages from clipart, digital images, or screen captures using graphics
tools and converts those graphics into the correct format for web pages.
8. Creates and checks links to other content in web documents using web authoring tools.
9. Recommends website policies, standards, controls, and practices to be followed by users of the Internet,
Intranet, and website.
10. Develops the contents of web pages and edits existing documents into the appropriate format for Internet
and Intranet presentations.
11. Designs page layouts and graphics for the website.
12. Creates directories or folders on websites and uploads web files to the correct destination using server
management or other file transfer methods.
13. Recommends upgrades to hardware and software to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the web site.
14. Optimizes the web architecture for navigability by web browsers.
15. Links agency web pages to web sites of other agencies to increase the scope of available information.
16. Locates and installs tools to create web content, structure, and presentation and to check for consistency.
17. Diagnoses and corrects problems that arise on the web site.
18. Updates web site information as required.
19. Complies with relevant State and industry standards in the creation of web sites.
20. May create user-input forms and output files to collect information from on-line web users.
21. May conduct training on the application and use of the Internet and Intranet web sites
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science.
General Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in a computer-related field
Specialized Experience:
1. Must have working knowledge of HTML and Java Script.
2. Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining websites/databases.
3. Experience creating web pages by converting existing word processing, spreadsheet, database, or graphic
files, formatting new documents, or entering information into web-authoring software.
4. Knowledge of the structure, conventions, functions, and capabilities of the Internet.
5. Ability to edit web page code created by automatic conversion of other documents in order to correct
mistakes made in conversion, using web editing software.
6. Ability to assist other Information Technology staff in the development and maintenance of web-based
projects application interfaces.
7. Experience converting text to HTML format.
8. Experience developing the contents of web.
