Welder/Fabricator

ROLE: The Welder/Fabricator welds steel related projects and equipment and assists the lead fabricator when needed to complete assigned jobs.

HOURS: Monday through Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime on Fridays when required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Keep a clean and organized work environment.
• Receive and communicate essential information, coordinate actions, obtain input, review open issues and action items, and contribute information to the team.
• Weld components in all positions, flat, vertical and overhead.
• Effectively manage an area in the shop and work well with others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to follow instructions and the able to be trained
• Willing to work in cold, dusty, and uncomfortable conditions
• A sense of urgency and self-motivation
• Ability to participate in a group planning environment
• Excels in one or more of (but not limited to) the following
  • Fabrication
  • Mechanics
  • Operation of press brake, band saw, iron-worker, drill press, mill
  • Assembly and installation
• Patient and able to work extremely well with customers
• Excels at welding and understands structural properties
• Ability to read blueprints and recognize welding symbols and specifications.
• Knowledge of specific welding processes, TIG, MIG, and ARC
• Knowledge of specific welding processes for both aluminum and stainless steel
• Skills in both verbal and written communication
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel, lift, walk and perform repetitious movement.
• Able to lift 50+ pounds.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE: Certified Welder
