Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Well-being Specialist in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellence in well-being coordination, marketing, and services, and organizing fitness training, recreation, and group class initiatives to improve and maintain health and fitness of associates overall well-being in a corporate environment.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with benefits, human resources, and other business segments on well-being business solutions and events
  • Organize and communicate annual events (ex. health fairs, vaccination clinics, recreation leagues, race events, community fitness events, etc.)
  • Maintain open communication with well-being contacts at call centers/remote offices and visit call centers as needed for monitoring of promotional materials, exercise equipment, events, etc.
  • Assist in creating and posting monthly well-being communications for associate participation
  • Analyze/assess interest and effectiveness of well-being programs and adjust programs as needed
  • Coordinate all Garmin related KC Corporate Challenge events January-June including recruiting
  • Coordinate and host annual well-being events for area associates
  • Apply understanding of HR related legislation and regulations and Garmin HR policies and follows relevant laws and regulations as it relates to well-being
  • Provide outstanding customer service to associates and other stakeholders, referring potentially difficult interactions to management
  • Provide information/guidance to associates and management regarding Well-being topics/trends
  • Gather facts and data needed for well-being analytics and exemplify Garmin’s Mission, Vision, Values & Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin’s image and culture
  • Oversee the onboarding process, experience and utilization tracking of the onsite Garmin Well-being Center
  • Host introductory orientations and ensure collaboration between various internal groups utilization of the Garmin Well-being Center
  • Develop Fitness/Recreation/Well-being educational program content consistent with adult learning principles
  • Manage facility maintenance, safety, security, and general cleanliness of Garmin Well-being Center
  • Manage the organization, planning and execution of contracted service offerings and/or vendor events
  • Analyze business situations and develop fitness related goals to achieve HR strategies, improve business results and performance
  • Proactively facilitate difficult interactions/conflict resolution among facility users and associates
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education, Public Health, Health & Wellness Management,Sports Science, , Exercise Science/Fitness, Well-being Promotion, or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Maintains working knowledge of organizational business units and competitive market
  • Proven reputation as an approachable and effective well-being professional serving associates and the organization
  • Demonstrates ability to leverage business/health/fitness/wellness knowledge and HR metrics in decision making
  • Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated effective presentation skills and public speaking ability
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experience and the capacity to mentor or train others
  • Must possess previous experience and commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding business and Human Resources matters
Desired Qualifications
  • CPR, First Aid, and/or AED certifications
  • Certifications and experience in Health & Wellness Coaching, Well Workplace, and Well-being Programming – ACE, ACSM, NASM, NBHWC, WELCOA, NCHEC
  • Group Fitness Instructor Certification - ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NASM
  • Personal Training Certification - ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, or NSCA
