Sports Content Reviewer in San Franscico, CA (remote)

As a Sports Content Reviewer, you will be responsible for researching, evaluating and editing sports related content.

A strong candidate will review and edit content to match our client's style guide and users’ expectations.

You will help define editorial direction and a compelling experience for the local market.

You will work cross-functionally to ensure accurate and thorough localization of global data for the local market.

Excellent research skills, sports knowledge, and attention to detail are critical attributes for success in this role. You will need passion for technology and a will to question the current workflows with the mindset to improve tools and processes. A general understanding and passion for sports is key. Responsibilities:


- Reviewing and editing content provided from partners to match the style guide and users’ expectations.

- Helping define editorial direction and compelling visual experience for current sporting events.

- Verifying accuracy of content and proactiveness in strategic coverage planning.

- Partner data accuracy validations.

- Other tasks as assigned


 

Qualifications:


- Native or near-native fluency in the English language. Spanish fluency, a plus.

- Significant knowledge of popular sports in North America, as well as basic knowledge of international sports.

- Strong research skills, ability to discern between reliable and unreliable sources, specific to sports research.

- Genuinely enjoys working in groups with a positive, team-first, collaborative attitude.

- Has initial instincts to ask questions to team members when unsure of something.

- Follows technical rules and makes necessary changes after receiving corrective feedback from experienced team members

- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle repetitive tasks.

- Flexible with sudden changes regarding rules and instructions.

- Genuine interest in seeking out finer details about sports: teams, players, facts, and tournaments/leagues updates.

- Strong writing and grammar, as well as previous experience in writing (particularly sports writing) and editing, a plus.

- Passion for sports content, a plus.

- Gets fired up for watching their favorite team or having a healthy debate on the latest in the sports world.

- Previous experience with CMS (Content Management System) tool, a plus.

- Localization or translation experience, a plus Design and photography experience a plus.


Requirements:


- This is a remote role, but candidates need to be based in San Francisco or nearby.

- Must be willing to work flexible hours.

- Previous experience working with live data or statistics gathering is a plus.


Position details: 


- Location: Remote in SF, California (or nearby).

- Rate: $33 per hour.

- Contract: W2, eligible for benefits based on hours worked.

- Schedule Availability: Full-time (40 hours per week). Must be flexible to work on a fixed Tuesday-Saturday schedule.

- Duration: open-ended.
