What you'll do:

As the Head of IT Strategy & IT Business Operations - Enterprise Digital & Mortgage Technology for our Technology Division, you'll oversee IT strategy, including coordination with the enterprise strategic planning group; IT business operations, including finance, vendor management, performance measurement and reporting; IT training, communications, engagement, and recognition (in partnership with HR); and IT project management/agile center of excellence. In addition, you'll have responsibility for the application towers that support Enterprise Digital and Mortgage. The successful candidate will lead a team of 80-100+ full time equivalents across these disciplines.
  • Manage all IT “strategic” processes, including the annual strategic planning, budget/forecast and performance/risk reporting processes.
  • Manage IT business operations, including financial oversight and vendor management.
  • Collaborate with HR to drive IT training, communications, engagement, and recognition programs.
  • Lead the IT project management office (which will include all IT project managers) and our agile transformation, including establishing and building out an agile center of excellence to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Lead the application development, maintenance and support for the mortgage technologies at the bank.
  • Provide the technical leadership for the bank’s digital transformation (in concert with digital product leaders from across the businesses).
  • Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training, and development.

What you'll need:

  • 15+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing and leading teams within the banking industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required; Masters or MBA in related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Extensive experience in IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), IT business operations, and IT project management.
  • Strong understanding of financial management and vendor management within an IT context. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results within a large organization with a player/coach mentality.
  • Expert experience in strategic planning and large-scale IT transformation experience. Large scale merger integration experience and digital transformation experience.
  • Strong technical skills, including application development leadership experience. Expansive knowledge of all banking channels, products, and application solutions.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing IT business operations. Excellent vendor management skills and experience in performance measurement and reporting.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead a diverse team of professionals. Experience in IT training, communications, and employee engagement programs.
  • Expertise in IT project management and agile methodologies (e.g., SAFE), including agile transformation planning and execution. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Expert speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
