This position is responsible for the oversight of the World Relief Quad Cities Employment Team to ensure quality program and service delivery and compliance with agency, community, and funder standards. This includes staff supervision, employer outreach, grant management, direct program implementation, interdepartmental collaboration, volunteer integration, and coordination of services to newly arrived refugees and immigrants. The goal of employment services is to work with refugees and immigrants to help them secure full-time work and to provide training and resources so that their families can move toward financial stability and community integration.


Role & Responsibilities

Staff Supervision:
  • Hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate employment services staff
  • Lead employment services staff in setting appropriate and achievable individual and team goals and objectives
  • Provide personal and professional development opportunities and support to program staff to ensure staff are able to utilize individual strengths
  • Facilitate one-on-one meetings with employment staff
  • Facilitate team meetings to ensure collaborative and quality, team-based service provision
  • Provide direct oversight of employment staff
  • Guide staff in brainstorming strategic employment and transportation solutions for refugees and immigrants
  • Provide ongoing feedback to staff and conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews Program and Grant Management and
Budget Oversight:
  • Manage all employment and economic empowerment programming 
  • Develop and maintain systems, policies, and procedures for the Employment Team, within the framework of WRQC systems and policies
  • Develop projections for all program grants and ensure these are met on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Work with Director of Empowerment Programs to create and review program budgets
  • Provide direct service support to refugees when necessary
Program Evaluation and Reporting:
  • Complete and submit reports and statistics to grantors and WR leadership on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and/or annual basis
  • Regularly review case documentation and case files to ensure grant compliance and appropriate and timely service deliver
  • Ensure employment staff and programs are prepared for program audits conducted by state and federal grantors and the World Relief Home Office
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
  • Meet regularly with supervisor to discuss department updates and strategy
  • Participate with other program managers and staff in regular meetings to collaborate, plan, and coordinate individual client service provision
  • Develop and review client service systems and tools with other managers
External Communication:
  • Develop and maintain positive ongoing relationships with a variety of local companies who hire refugees 
  • Lead and support the employment team in the development and fostering of positive relationships with employers, partnering organizations, businesses, churches, and volunteers
  • Organize and lead community partnerships and regular meetings to enhance refugee work experiences in the Quad Cities

  • This role is responsible for supervising others and includes responsibilities consistent with supervising employees including but not limited to monitoring daily work activities, tracking and approving timesheets including approving time off, monitoring performance including entering goals, progress check-ins, and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, documenting performance concerns, entering staff promotions, transitions, and separations in HRIS within required time frame. Managers at World Relief are also considered spiritual leaders and are expected to lead staff in a manner consistent with our Christian values including but not limited to praying with staff, leading devotionals, and fostering a Christian environment in interactions with staff throughout World Relief.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Bi-lingual desired (e.g. Spanish, Swahili, Dari, Arabic)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous professional experience in social services sector strongly preferred
  • Ability to work well on a team in a synergistic work environment, a flexible and motivated team player
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and organize in a fast paced and fluid environment
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and encourage others to work effectively and pursue excellence
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills; ability to assess, analyze, and respond to changing realities appropriately
  • Strong ability to work independently, remain focused, productive, and accomplish goals in a challenging, fluid and sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Cross-cultural experience or previous experience working with refugees preferred
  • Ability to mediate conflict and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner
  • Must be willing to perform other tasks as assigned


Requirements
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
  • Valid driver’s license , reliable access to an insured vehicle required  and clean driving record 
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Strong skills in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Power Point, Team, Zoom, and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of local employment landscape and motivation get refugees and immigrants into gainful employment opportunities 
  • Previous management experience strongly preferred
  • Fluent in English with strong interpersonal and communication skills–listening, speaking, and writing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, or other related field required 


$21 - $24 an hour
$21-24

- Eligibility: Full Time (40 hours per week) is eligible after 3 months of employment. Part time is eligible after 1000 hours in a year.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

 

·         General office setting. World Relief also offers hybrid and remote schedules for limited positions.

·         Great lengths of time working on computer, reading from computer screen, entering information, standing at copier or fax machine, and some time on the phone or in virtual meetings may be required.

·         Year-end archiving activities involve repeated lifting and bending.
