ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Since then, for 80 years, across 100 countries, World Relief has partnered with local churches and communities to build a world where families thrive and communities flourish.


Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

 


 World Relief Quad Cities seeks an Immigrant Caseworker to provide client services within the Illinois Welcoming Center (IWC) and the Supporting Municipalities for  Asylum Seeker Services (SMASS) programs. This position will provide case management services to eligible refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers, offering tailored services to stabilize their immediate needs, provide crisis intervention, and connect clients to necessary resources. The Immigrant Caseworker will work closely with other program case managers to fill gaps in services and follow through on referrals made. The caseworker will be responsible for guiding clients through a culturally responsive and trauma-informed process that ensures they access the necessary support services to achieve stability.


ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Provide linguistically and culturally responsive case management and service coordination for refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers, conducting intake assessments for both programs to determine client eligibility and needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service providers in healthcare, housing, education, employment, and public benefits.
  • Work closely with the program manager for IWC and SMASS to identify service gaps and improve the efficiency of service delivery.
  • Provide emergency services and crisis intervention to help clients stabilize in times of crisis, addressing their immediate needs and linking them to services that promote their wellbeing.
  • Provide referrals for services not offered in-house and follow through to ensure those referral services are received
  • Assist with presentations and outreach efforts aimed at educating the community and stakeholders about the services provided by both programs.
  • Accurately and efficiently document all services provided to clients in World Relief Quad Cities’ database, Microsoft Dynamics, and in the grantor’s databases. 
  • Other duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Case management experience preferred.
  • Fluency in one or more languages commonly spoken by refugees and immigrants (e.g., Spanish, Swahili, Dari, Arabic) is highly preferred


$17 - $19 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience
