The Principal Product Owner will report to the VP, Business Transformation and drive the enterprise product vision, strategy, and roadmap working cross-functionally to execute transforming, optimizing and delivering measured value across one or two select WP Engine core business processes. Business processes include; marketing, sales, provisioning, billing, finance, accounting, customer service, human resources and information technology. Transforming our core business processes is an important step in our start-up to enterprise journey as the company strives to go from a sales-led growth strategy to a customer journey-led growth strategy and drive profitable growth.This role is a great fit for someone who is ambitious, structured, data-driven, performance oriented, with a passion for the craft of product.The Day To Day• Lead Design Thinking workshops, develop problem statements, minimum viable product definitions, and digital transformation roadmaps• Collaborate with experience design team to conduct persona research, market research, create persona profiles, develop journey maps, high-fidelity prototypes, and wireframe that deliver addictive wow experiences• Drive software development teams to deliver products that increase customer satisfaction, operating efficiency, increase sales revenue, and reduces operating expenses• Lead process engineers focused on operational effectiveness and skilled in value metrics, value insights, and business process transformation, to analyze future state benefits, develop business cases, and provide continuous improvement insights and data• Work with engineering to define, optimize, and evolve the solution from MVP to future state• Manage product and sprint backlogs, and facilitate continuous improvements in agile maturity and higher velocity• Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends• Lead the breakdown of strategies and business objectives into small rapidly deliverable value and/or experiments• Deliver product outcomes on regular short cycles, while aligning rolling 4-8 week product plans with longer term product vision and strategy• Act as a product evangelist through thought leadership, speaking, and engagement with industry communities• Work cross-functionally with internal partners to create clarity, collaboration, alignment and force behind our objectives and product plan• Assess value, develop cases, prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned to WPe strategy• Proactively ensure a well-defined task backlog for agile development teams• Collaborate with development teams to manage the overall delivery, timeline and quality• Define and execute adoption strategies, incentives and campaigns to drive value realization• Work with the training and change resources to craft product training criteria, curriculum, content and oversee the delivery of training• Recruit, coach and retain top product management, process engineering and business analyst talent• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and empathy for the customer• Model a growth oriented, disruptive, “blue-sky” mindset where established organization norms are challenged, silos broken down, and optimal designs are architected• Architect solutions, process, operating models that are optimal; “blue-sky” designs and take measured compromises to achieve an adoptable design• COntinuously monitor adoption of solutions, adjust designs to improve adoption while tracking value delivered and impact to rule of 40• Advocate for and represent the business transformation organization at the C-level, communicate across functions and leaders• Identify core opportunities for customer journey enabled growth and operational effectiveness that maximizes the impact on rule of 40Must Have• 6+ years of product owner experience focused on Billing, Invoicing and Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) for high-tech software based subscription products, services, bundles, features, entitlements, and subscription based pricing, billing and invoicing• Experience with the Netsuite SuiteBilling features, functions and capabilities as well as Salesforce, Hubspot, LeanData, ZenDesk, Gainsight is a plus• Experience with Sales-Assisted and Self-Service orders is a plus• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent requiredYour Expertise And Passion• A highly motivated, self-starting leader with a genuine interest in business transformation, a passion to lead product and process improvement teams, and deliver cutting-edge enterprise products, with addictive wow experiences• Preferably industry experience in technology or high-tech• Experience with Agile Software development.• Some subject matter expertise in AI, NLP, BPM, RPA, ChatBots, and data analytics etc.• You are adaptable, analytical, positive, people-smart, and ambitious, seamlessly partnering and delivering value to all internal and external stakeholders• Experience building and leading high performance product and process transformation teams that partner well internal corporate stakeholders• Track record of career velocity management roles showing increasing depth and scope of responsibilities and product management and program management capabilities• Demonstrated track record of passion and success for innovating on behalf of internal stakeholders• World-class problem-solver with a proven track record of growing, developing and hiring for excellent product management and process transformation teams.• Strong verbal and written communication skills. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
