Job Description We are hiring an Accounting/Finance Intern at our downtown Minneapolis, MN office. This internship will have the opportunity to work full-time during the summer with possible extension to work part time during the school year. The ideal student will be a Sophomore (or above) undergraduate student who is pursuing a degree in accounting or finance. Summary • Assist with financial analysis and support to the team for the annual budget process, as well as other support for current year and five year forecasting. • Assist with collecting financial data for variance reporting. • Prepare internal and external reports. • Validate completed SAP master data requests and research and resolve master data issues within SAP. • Provide written documentation of various processes within the group and perform other miscellaneous financial/accounting duties as directeted. Minimum Qualifications • Must be a current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance. • Must be a Sophomore or above • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Ability to commute to work from downtown Minneapolis office • Ability to work 40 hours per week during summer 2021 • Ability to work 8 hours per week during the academic year at our downtown Minneapolis office Preferred Qualifications • Basic accounting and financing classes • A GPA of 3.0 or higher • Able to commit to the internship for 12 months or longer _______________________________________________________________________________________________ As a leading combination electricity and natural gas energy company, Xcel Energy offers a comprehensive portfolio of energy-related products and services to 3.4 million electricity and 1.9 million natural gas customers across eight Western and Midwestern states.
