How you’ll make an impact
As a Product Operations Principal your main focus will be to help Planday’s Product and Engineering teams perform in the best possible way to deliver maximum impact for our customers.
This role will serve as business partner to our Product & Engineering (P&E) Leaders and work in close collaboration with the CPO and CTO of Planday to drive transformation, uplift capabilities and improve efficiency of operations.
What you’ll do
- Orchestrate the P&E Operating Model:
a) Orchestrate the execution of our Operating Model and Rhythm across Product & Engineering e.g. the Monthly Product Planning and Quarterly Roadmap prioritisation cadences.
b) Support the development of key capabilities needed for the Operating Model to work efficiently - e.g. support P&E teams to improve how they estimate effort, customer impact and success metrics.
c) In partnership with the VP of Operations, you will ensure the P&E prioritisation outcomes are fed into the wider business’ monthly, quarterly and annual planning processes.
- Be a valued Business Partner to P&E leaders: help our leaders to build, manage and improve cross team collaboration.
- Data Management & Insights: Manage team performance metrics in Jira by ensuring data integrity and extracting key insights that enable leaders to make data driven decisions about their team(s). You will continuously evaluate and improve the quality of metrics and the insights produced. You will ensure that the metrics are visible, accessible and their importance is well understood.
- Product Framework Education and Coaching: Be an expert in Product Management Frameworks that enable businesses to manage and build great products in a repeatable and consistent way. You will work with teams to maintain an efficient agile mindset and supporting processes. You will work alongside P&E leaders to ensure Planday adopts best-in-class frameworks and processes that enable us to deliver our Product Strategy as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Tooling: Be the administrator of Jira and Confluence. Recommend tools to help us be more efficient.
What experience you’ll bring
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Product Operations, Product Management, Delivery Management or Product Coach role in a SaaS business (Career experience that combines two or more of these roles would be highly desirable)
- Experience of driving a Product organisation through transformation in how it leverages data
- Experience in Product Led Growth Businesses is desirable
