Provides primary leadership for the development of YMCA programs, memberships, volunteers/staff and activities conducted through the branch of the YMCA of Greater Dayton. This position also provides leadership to the strategic initiatives of the Association and develops programs and systems in accordance with the Association’s strategic plan and YMCA of the USA standards.

Essential Functions:
Develops and implements annual objectives for the YMCA Branch as part of the Association’s strategic plan.
Develops, monitors, forecasts, and effectively manages the annual branch operating budget to meet fiscal objectives.
Works with the appropriate staff to develop and implement the program plan for the branch to meet YMCA objectives and adhere to state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
Works with the appropriate staff to develop and implement the membership plan, including developing membership sales and retention goals, for the branch.
Leads and conducts a successful Annual Campaign to achieve the pre-campaign agreed upon goal.
Selects, trains, leads, coaches, evaluates, develops, and motivates Branch staff and volunteers.
Fosters an inclusive work environment.
Develops and works successfully with collaborative partners.
Promotes and advocates for the work of the Y within the community in accordance with Association/Branch strategic and operating plans.
Recruits, develops, and leads the appropriate volunteer structure of the branch, including an active volunteer Board of Advisors.
Oversees the management of a clean and sanitary, safe, and well-maintained facility that meets all state and local licensing requirements.
Oversees the management of a clean, safe, and well-maintained building.
Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Ensures marketing materials comply with Y branding guidelines and uses Y Voice to effectively tell the YMCA story.
Ensures maintenance of accurate records for the branch related to programs, facility, and staff.
Communicates to the Vice President of Operations any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up.
Leads goal setting and achievement of outcomes of program task teams, and other assigned committees, of the Association.
Holds effective staff meetings.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent education and experience required.
CPR/AED, First Aid and Oxygen within 60 days of hire and kept current.
Six or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit agency.
Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.
Proven track record in fundraising along with community and partner development.
Sound budget development, fiscal and facility management background required.
Solid experience in program planning and membership development required.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred.
Must hold a valid driver’s license, insurable drivers record according to the YMCA’s insurance carriers, and have reliable transportation to travel for business meetings, training events, YMCA site visits, vendors, and suppliers, etc.
Computer skills needed, particularly with Microsoft Office and email applications, along with ability to learn the internal YMCA software.
