YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:- Financial Oversight: Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounting, payroll and cash management, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial statements and other comprehensive financial reports as well as strategic recommendations to senior management, effectively communicating financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Process Optimization: Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial processes and systems to automate and streamline accounting functions, particularly in areas such as invoice processing, reconciliations, payroll and reporting, driving operational efficiency and scalability.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Internal Controls: Develop and establish and enforce internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Data Analytics: Utilize advanced data analytics and financial modelling techniques to drive insights and optimize key financial metrics, supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Audit Management: Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Support tax compliance, regulatory reporting, and prepare accounting policies and complex accounting memos to drive adherence to IFRS.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support for operational and strategic initiatives.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management position
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
- CPA designation required
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
- Proven track record of success in managing complex financial operations, implementing internal controls and process improvements
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar software, as well as proficiency in data analysis and modelling tools.

Candidates must be located in Canada to be considered.
We are organized as a remote team, as such we are looking for candidates who can work effectively remotely. You must have access to a secure high speed internet connection and a secure workspace to ensure security of private information. This role is available on a permanently remote basis.
