About the Role

In this role, you’ll help guide Zello’s product evolution. This starts with roadmapping, planning features and improvements over time that align with user needs and the company’s product vision. You will work closely with customers in order to understand their varied use cases and their jobs to be done. Working closely with engineers, designers, and data analysts, you will define product requirements and specifications, ensuring that everyone understands what needs to be built and why. You will partner with stakeholders across the Zello ecosystem to identify opportunities for innovation, drive differentiation, and deliver impactful solutions that meet customer needs. Lastly, you will simultaneously oversee delivery, coordinating the development process while ensuring that the product is built according to the defined requirements, within the scope, and on schedule. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in bottoms-up tactical research and delivery with an eye on our overall product strategy. We're based in Austin, TX, and we offer a flexible hybrid working arrangement with the opportunity to work both in the office and remotely. This role will be in office 3+ days a week.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate and prioritize product features by analyzing qualitative and quantitative user data, usability tests, and stakeholder feedback, ensuring they align with business objectives and technical feasibility

  • Identify and prioritize key milestones for product initiatives, ensuring a well-planned release schedule in collaboration with design and engineering teams

  • Facilitate regular meetings to report on product performance metrics and discuss priority updates in order to ensure alignment across all groups

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, and adeptly tackle conflicts and remove obstacles to maintain team performance

  • Work closely with our enterprise customers to identify needs, handle feature requests and incorporating them in the roadmap if they are a fit, and collaborating with them to solve complex enterprise problems

  • Work in collaboration with data analysts and sales to interpret user data in order to make informed product decisions

  • Conduct thorough competitive research to stay abreast of market trends and examine user behavior to comprehend their preferences

  • Collaborate with vendors to identify hardware solutions that align with product roadmaps and meet the needs of target user segments

  • Work with hardware vendors to advocate for features and improvements that align with the product vision and customer needs

Who You Are

  • 3+ years in product management, with 5+ years in cross-functional team collaboration

  • Startup or scale-up company experience preferred

  • Proficiency in data analysis and evaluating sales data, user interviews, surveys and usability tests in order to map out user journeys

  • Experience with product management software (e.g., JIRA, Asana)

  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles and collaboration with design teams

  • Skill in creating product documentation and presentations for non-technical stakeholders

  • Balancing and prioritizing competing opportunities

  • Experience in guiding cross-departmental collaboration to deliver successful product launches

  • Curious about how hardware and software integrate to deliver impactful solutions

  • Motivated by improving functionality and reliability for end users

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field
