Senior Director, Data Analytics

As a trusted strategic partner to every team across Zip, you will own all things data from data modeling and dashboard building to deep-dive analytics recommendations that truly change the game for our customers.. As a Senior Director, Analytics, you will be responsible for leading a team that delivers business intelligence solutions and business insights / recommendations for all of Zip’s business teams, including: Product, Marketing, Merchant and Finance. In this role, you will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including executives, across Zip to deliver crucial data strategy components and help accelerate profitable growth of Zip in the US market. Interesting problems you’ll get to solve • Develop and execute a data strategy at Zip • Partner with senior management to identify areas of opportunity where data can be leveraged to drive business outcomes • Own the implementation and governance of analytical tooling • Manage, coach, and develop the Zip Data Analytics team • Partner closely with business and engineering teams to drive key components for the data strategy • Advocate for the internal and external “brand” of data at Zip • Ensure that analytical projects are aligned with business objectives and recommendations are considered and prioritized in tandem with business initiative discovery and planning cadences • Own and deliver metrics for monthly business reviews, including data quality and storytelling • Deliver ad-hoc insights for stakeholders and leadership that will help steer strategic initiatives and priorities • Manage financial reporting, forecasting and analytics, while partnering closely with the Finance function and executive leadership team • Deliver structured business insights and recommendations and solving complex and ambiguous challenges, using data and a range of analytical techniques What You’ll Bring To The Team • 15+ years of experience in in data analytics, project management, or related areas • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics or a related field • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders, influencing strategic direction, and fostering trusted partnerships • Experience in developing and prioritizing high-level project plans for strategic initiatives, ensuring effective delivery • Proficiency in recommending and implementing strategies, best practices, and change management processes • Leadership in guiding teams to become trusted partners and implementing sustainable change across stakeholders • Effective communication and influence with decision-makers, coupled with strong organizational and interpersonal skills • Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, Tableau, PowerBI skills • Preference for skills in Data Architecture and Modeling • Experience scaling business processes in analytics • Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred • Experience with relevant Business Intelligence tools/scripting languages (i.e., SQL, Python, Spark, Scala, R, Power BI, Tableau preferred) • Related industry experience (i.e., finance, payments, fintech, retail, merchandising, healthcare, or eCommerce) preferred • Experience with data modeling (dbt), data cataloging (Alation/Atlan) preferred What You’ll Get In Return Zip is a place where you’ll get out what you put in. However, actual base salary will depend on varying circumstances and individualized factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
