Overview:

At Zscaler, we're on a mission to make the internet safe for every user, anywhere. We seek a seasoned Principal Software Engineer - UI with expertise in implementing state-of-the-art Data Visualizations, with a strong front-end engineering background for the development of data visualization components using D3/ReactJS, and cutting edge user experiences. This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of user experience of our cybersecurity products and significantly impact our global customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers on the team to implement and support the development of reusable, and extensible data visualization components.
  • Implement an architecture for the data visualization library that is scalable to multiple JS frameworks.
  • Write acceptance tests, and documentation to ensure maximum adoption of the components.
  • Implement and evangelize Data Visualization best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, D3, WebGL, and/or Shader language GL/SL, HTML, CSS.
  • Passionate about challenging Data Visualization projects with large amounts of data, and solving complex problems.
  • Self-driven with ability to work both independently and within a team environment to accomplish SMART goals, and objectives.
  • Knack for simple and intuitive Data Visualizations for impactful storytelling.
  • Comfortable with maintaining, and contributing to code repositories using Git, BitBucket or other version control.
  • Ability to create quick prototypes for data visualization projects with ambiguous requirements.
  • Experience implementing smooth animations for Data Visualization components.
  • Familiarity with client-side modern build tools, and CI/CD.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years professional experience as a front end engineer specialized in data visualization for enterprise applications
  • Portfolio showcasing data visualization development proficiency

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range
$1$1 USD
