Enterprise Data Architect

Zurich North America is looking for an Enterprise Data Architect to join our Data & Analytics team based at our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. While this position will be based out of our Schaumburg Headquarters, we are offering the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.Data Architects are responsible for designing designing and implementing data pipelines. These data pipelines will be developed through multi-year efforts and encompass multiple aspects of the business to enable data-driven decision-making. The products will also allow stakeholders to rapidly conduct analysis, produce actionable insights and answer business questions to execute on strategic priorities. In addition, the Data Architect will complete data evaluations and enhance the suite of analytical capabilities and tools.Our Data Architect will be expected to:• Design and implement data pipelines• Data modeling with Big Data tools like Spark SQL and Azure Databricks• Understand and translate complex business requests to deliver actionable insights• Partner with data scientists and data engineers to build and deliver data-driven business solutions• Evaluate and leverage emerging tools and technologies• Effectively collaborate and work in an agile frameworkBasic Qualifications:• Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Data Management area OR• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Data Management area AND• Experienced in data interrogation, data profiling or data modelingPreferred Qualifications:• Strong commercial insurance knowledge and experience• Experience in scripting languages including Python, R, Java, Scala• Experience with Big Data tools like Spark SQL, Databricks• Strong knowledge and experience in data modeling techniques and best practices.• Proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools and frameworks.• Experience with data quality management and data governance principles.• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.As a condition of employment at Zurich, employees must adhere to any COVID-related health and safety protocols in place at that time (https://www.zurichna.com/careers/faq).A future with Zurich.
