Job Description

AECOM is delivering some of Australia’s most critical water infrastructure projects. With major investment in dam infrastructure and long-term partnerships with Dam owners nationwide, we offer an unparalleled opportunity to work on complex and high-impact projects across the country.

As part of our industry leading Dams team, you’ll contribute to feasibility studies, design, construction, and asset management, collaborating with specialists nationally and internationally to develop sustainable water solutions and mentor the next generation of engineers.

With AECOM’s flexibility, base yourself in either our Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Perth or Melbourne offices.

What a day in this role could involve:

  • Geotechnical and embankment dam engineering.
  • Inspection and condition assessment of existing dams.
  • Scoping and undertaking geotechnical investigations, including interpretation of foundation conditions and characterising the engineering properties of foundation and construction materials.
  • Construction support services including inspection of works, evaluation of quality control and quality assurance data and construction reporting.
  • Preparation of tenders and proposals & providing mentoring.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Demonstrated capability in geotechnical and embankment design, including the preparation of design reports, design drawings and specifications, ideally within the dam industry.
  • You are positive, and see challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships with internal stakeholders, clients as well as the local industry, whether through project work, client initiatives or industry associations.
  • A degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline (essential).
