AHRC New York City has operated sleepaway summer camps for over 50 years, providing summer camp experiences to over 1,000 individuals and much-needed respite to their families. We take pride in our two summer camps and are successfully accredited by the American Camp Association, (ACA)

Job Description

AHRC New York City offers a variety of Nursing Employment Opportunities at our two UPSTATE NEW YORK  summer camps, Camp Anne and The Lodge. Are you looking for an opportunity to provide nursing services in a less stressful, more rewarding setting or maybe you are a school nurse looking for a way to earn extra money in a warm and supportive environment. Working in our summer camps will allow you to enjoy nursing again and will remind you of why you wanted to become a nurse. 

RN Salary $1600- $2160 per week                                                                                     

LPN Salary $1400-$1890 per week                                                                                        

Responsibilities

  • Review camper medical records and partner with parents and staff to create tailored health plans that adhere to campers needs.
  • Ensure health and safety of campers and staff
  • Provide medical care to the camp community
  • Maintain accurate record keeping for prescriptions, treatments, and incident reports.
  • Dispense medication
  • Daily sick call
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • A Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree

  • Nurse Graduate or Nursing student to assist in health center

  • Current CPR for the Professional and First Aid (These will be provided if you are unable to obtain them prior to the camp sessions.)

  • You must have a NY state license, including mandated Infection Control and Child Abuse curriculum.

  • Annual PPD test

  • Immunization record

  • Physician statement of health

  • Six-day work week (negotiable), with shifts scheduled daily.

  • You must live at camp, unless you live locally

Additional Information

Camp Schedule:

Camp runs for approximately 10 weeks and is broken into sessions according to age. The first three sessions cater to our adult population, (21-65 years old), and the last two sessions cater to our teenagers, (13-21 years old) and children, (5-12 years old) population. Camp Nurses begin in early June.
