Outside Sales Representative – CT/Western MA Territory
Position Summary:
A growing supplier of plumbing and heating products is seeking a self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to service customers throughout the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts region. This is a relationship-focused, field-based role ideal for a confident communicator who thrives on building rapport and driving results within the construction and mechanical trades.
What You’ll Do:
Sales & Account Management
Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the plumbing and heating sectors.
Build strong relationships with contractors, distributors, and other trade professionals.
Serve as the go-to resource for clients, ensuring they receive accurate product information, quotes, and timely service.
Product Representation
Present and promote high-quality plumbing and heating solutions from leading manufacturers.
Educate clients on product features, advantages, and benefits.
Stay current with new product lines and industry developments to support evolving customer needs.
Territory Intelligence & Strategy
Monitor regional trends and competitor activity to uncover new business potential.
Report key customer insights and sales activity through internal CRM systems.
Collaborate with company leadership to fine-tune strategies and improve customer experiences.
Customer Support & Issue Resolution
Handle product and service inquiries, delivery coordination, and technical issues in a timely manner.
Work closely with distribution partners to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
2–5 years of experience in outside sales, ideally within plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, or construction trades.
Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating systems preferred.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Self-starter with a goal-driven mindset and a high level of accountability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Must be comfortable traveling locally to manage territory.
Education:
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, or a related field is a plus.
