The Vice President – Human Resources role at Atlanta Braves Holding (ABHI) is a leadership position responsible for aligning the organization’s workforce with its business goals. This HR executive works closely with management to provide strategic guidance on human resources issues, including policy design, talent management, employee relations, and compliance with legal requirements, particularly in a publicly held company environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultation and Guidance: Serve as an HR consultant to managers, offering advice on HR issues.
  • HR Policies & Programs: Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the company’s talent and organizational goals.
  • Employee Relations & Dispute Resolution: Handle complex employee relations issues and disputes while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use HR trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies that meet organizational needs.
  • Performance Management: Provide day-to-day performance management guidance, including coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws and reduce legal risks by working closely with the legal department.
  • Employee Engagement & Retention: Work on improving work relationships and boosting employee morale to enhance productivity and retention.
  • Succession Planning & Workforce Strategy: Offer guidance on business unit restructuring and succession planning.
  • Training & Leadership Development: Identify training and coaching needs for leaders and employees to foster growth.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of progressive HR experience with proven leadership skills.
  • Project Management: Strong experience in managing multiple HR initiatives, prioritizing tasks, and delivering results.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Workday is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Experience: Supporting Compensation Committees
  • Certifications: HR certifications such as CHRL, SHRP, PHR, SPHR.
  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in HR, Business, or Organizational Development.
  • People Management: 5-7 years of experience in managing teams.
