Veteran Student Success Assistant (Hourly)

Job Description Summary:

Support the Centers for Veteran Student Success Coordinator with the planning, implementation, and delivery of programs, services, and events to boost veteran benefit and resource utilization by students including prospective students in the ACC service area. This role requires local travel within the ACC service area, availability during evenings, and occasional Saturdays.

Continued employment beyond each fiscal year is not guaranteed and will depend on factors such as business needs, budget allocations, and performance evaluations. Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Creates a range of educational content (including newsletters, emails, presentations, and website management) and materials (e.g. flyers and brochures) to support veterans.

  • Supports and assists with the implementation of proactive interventions and support activities to enhance student access and retention for veterans.

  • Assists with the coordination and implementation outreach projects across the district.

  • Assists with gathering data for various reports.

  • Maintains active involvement by serving on the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee.

  • Two years of related work experience.

Preferred Work Experience

  • Two years of experience supporting veterans through planning, coordinating, and implementing educational programs and outreach events.

Required Education

  • Associates degree.

  • Equivalent work experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.

  • Work is routinely performed in a standard office or similar environment.

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
