Backend Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Backend Developer to join our inclusive and collaborative Wallet Engineering team in NYC. In this role, you will collaborate with an experienced team of software developers and applied cryptographers to create secure, scalable, and user-friendly products using state-of-the-art MPC (Multi-Party Computation) technology. This position provides the opportunity to explore a diverse range of topics, such as cryptography, blockchain, consensus algorithms, cross-chain messaging, and decentralized applications. The role will report to a technical engineering manager and work closely with product and engineering teams to support company goals and initiatives.

Note: this is a hybrid position based based in NYC.

Your Impact 

  • Develop various applications and services, ranging from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications, across Blockdaemon's wallet products.

  • Leverage cloud-based systems (ideally AWS or Azure) to deploy and maintain technical solutions across multiple environments.

  • Ensure code quality and maintainability by reviewing, testing, and debugging code in a collaborative, supportive environment with peers.

  • Stay up to date with new and emerging technologies, industry shifts, and engineering best practices.

  • Attend and support various agile ceremonies, such as standups and retrospectives, in an inclusive and open team environment.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, contributing to a diverse set of initiatives.

Role Requirement

  • Proficient with Golang programming.

  • Good knowledge of the web environment, API design, GRPC, HTTP, REST, and WebSockets.

  • Experience with databases, caching, and queuing technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies.

  • Ability to write reusable, testable, and efficient code.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experienced in CI/CD development processes.

  • Familiar with AWS CDK, Pulumi, or other infrastructure as code tools.

  • Knowledge of working with cloud infrastructure technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).

Pay range is $150,000 - $175,000.  Salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. The range shown reflects the target minimum and maximum for the role across all U.S. locations. Actual pay is determined by location, skills, and relevant experience.
