The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking an Equipment & Tool Designer (Asset Design) located in Berkeley, MO.

When you join our team of mission driven engineers, you’ll have the opportunity to be hands on while driving solutions to difficult problems. As a member of the team, you will have the unique opportunity to support the fabrication and assembly for the next generation Air Force Trainer, bombers and tactical fighter aircraft, autonomous air vehicles, rotorcraft, advanced airborne sensors, space vehicles, satellites, weapons systems, the commercial fleet of single and twin aisle airplanes and much more.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
  • Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision.
  • Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan.
  • Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
  • Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and validates spares requirements.
  • Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work.
  • Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training.
  • Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution.
  • Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration.
  • Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.

     

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 4+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 6+ years of work-related experience with an Associate’s degree OR 8+ years of work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • B.S. or higher in Aerospace, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range:

Level 4: $75,650 - $102,350
