As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for a large-scale project. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality cloud services and applications.
The preferred location for this position is (Fairfax,VA). If you are located within 50 miles of a CGI Federal office, a hybrid working model is acceptable. Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based solutions on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to meet project requirements and client needs.
Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and project managers to define cloud architecture and infrastructure requirements.
Good understanding of Microservice architecture and distributed application development.
Implement and manage cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and security configurations.
Good understanding of IAM policy setup, roles and access controls, user groups with in GCP.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment and scaling of applications.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, providing timely support to development.
10+ years of proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Proficiency in Java programming and experience with Java-based applications.
Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
