Our client is a Pittsburgh, PA-based general contractor specializing in retail commercial construction buildouts for national organizations. Their success is built on strong client relationships and a commitment to exceeding expectations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are a mid-sized company looking for a detail-oriented Estimator who enjoys working with a small team to produce high-level estimates.

The ideal candidate understands the challenges of retail construction and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time, in-office position (Monday–Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel), Bluebeam, and other estimating software.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and design documents.
  • Assess subcontractor input for scope inclusion and identify gaps or overlaps.
  • Develop and manage project schedules.
  • Collaborate with assistant project managers to facilitate subcontractor procurement.
  • Perform quantity take-offs, compile bids, and qualify subcontractors.
  • Submit final bids to clients and review accepted bids for project handoff.
  • Manage blueprint distribution to subcontractors to ensure comprehensive input.
  • Revise estimates based on feedback and project requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five years of experience in retail commercial construction estimating.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel), Bluebeam, and estimating tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design documents.
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and integrity.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable commute to the Pittsburgh, PA office (Mt. Lebanon / Castle Shannon area).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Project List Submission: Please provide a detailed list of retail commercial projects you have estimated, past and current.
  • Pre-Employment Screening: Candidates must pass a drug test, including marijuana screening, and undergo a criminal background check before an official job offer.

WORK LOCATION

  • On-site in Pittsburgh, PA (Mt. Lebanon / Castle Shannon area).
