DDC IT Services is seeking a talented Application Engineer to join our team. Provide application and client support to AFIT user organizations in support of the government- operated, centralized AFIT Help Desk, which is manned by government, military, and contractor personnel only. AE’s receive/respond/repair to customer trouble calls as an extension of the AFIT Help Desk. Provide support for users on weekdays during normal business hours. Non-SCI access is only required for this role.
• Install, configure, and manage end-user client hardware and software operating system and applications. • Provide customer service for the operation, restoration, and configuration of information systems. • Support and manage standardized student classroom configurations and reset shared student computers to baseline configuration. • Coordinate and document information systems repairs through Footprints. • Run system diagnostics and determine cause of hardware and software failures. • Remove and replace components and peripherals to restore system operation. • Prepare and process information systems requirements to support mission needs. • Monitor information system security programs. • Monitor, troubleshoot, and manage local configuration and installation of network printers. Report security incidents and apply corrective security procedures as directed by the government-operated Help Desk. • Ensure all security requirements meet current guidance and policy. • Administer and perform system controls, i.e. password assignment, data ownership transfers. • Provide system expertise in the operational use of appropriate AFIT applications, and coordinate with AFIT Help Desk, network, and web administrators to resolve program malfunctions. • Configure and operate mobile phones and perform basic setup, connection, and operation of mobile phone equipment. • Configure and operate basic audio/visual office equipment (i.e. projector systems, video camera) and perform basic setup, connection and operation of video-teleconferencing equipment. • Configure, support and control laptop computers for travel and remote access purposes.• Accept trouble reports from AFIT personnel via emails, telephone, and direct conversation. • Perform analysis to determine causes of the reported problems. • Track all problems until resolution and update status as it changes. • Respond to user requests for information and provide assistance regarding network functionality, to include requesting assistance from other support activities on problems that cannot be immediately resolved. • Process the trouble call in accordance with established AFIT Help Desk procedures, including passing trouble tickets to the next level if local procedures and analysis are unable to resolve the reported issue.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in application engineering • Require at least 7 years of Department of Defense (DoD) and or private sector experience in information security, computer networking, and system administration. • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field required (DoD Equivalent)• Security + Certification required• Must be able to pass favorable National Agency Check (NAC) and obtain SECRET security clearance
