Commercial Electrician

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Electrician with experience in commercial low voltage systems, including access control, video surveillance, and general low voltage electrical work. This position requires expertise in installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware for security systems, as well as proficiency in low voltage wiring and electrical components in commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with both security system hardware and electrical systems, ensuring seamless operation across various technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

Security Systems & Hardware Installation

  • Install, maintain, and repair access control systems, including readers, controllers, electronic locks, sensors, relays, and request-to-exit devices.
  • Install and configure video surveillance systems, including cameras, mounts, NVRs, and related equipment.
  • Integrate access control systems with video surveillance systems to ensure seamless operation.

Electrical & Low Voltage Systems

  • Work with low-voltage power wiring, security systems, and other commercial electrical installations.
  • Perform low-voltage cabling, termination, and testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, including power supplies, network devices, and connectivity.
  • Ensure all installations meet safety standards and electrical codes.
  • Conduct site surveys to assess installation conditions and ensure successful system integration.

System Integration & Support

  • Collaborate with software technicians to ensure hardware and software compatibility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair video surveillance and access control hardware, ensuring proper alignment, focus, and integration.
  • Work on both commercial electrical work and low voltage security systems as required.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance services for both electrical and security hardware systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with low-voltage systems, including access control and video surveillance applications.
  • Experience with electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with commercial electrical work and low voltage systems (e.g., security systems, data cabling).
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
