The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opening for an AI Engineer with knowledge in AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI product lifecycle management. As an integral part of our AI & Automation Centre of Excellence, you'll support a proficient team of AI Product Owner & AI Engineers and play a crucial role in collaborating with AI data scientists to transform complex models into production-ready solutions. Your role includes optimising algorithms for real-world applications and ensuring seamless integration of data science-driven features into EDF’s products and services.

Your role is to harness AI and automation technologies to enhance operational efficiencies and develop new customer propositions. You'll be instrumental in the lifecycle of AI solutions. With a focus on collaborative work, you will establish relationships across various teams, supporting customer operations and delivering business outcomes. Your expertise will guide the lifecycle creation of AI data products from deployment to retirement.

What You Need:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Technical Proficiency: Exceptional skills in data manipulation, AI and data science techniques, programming in Python, or similar languages. An understanding of machine learning algorithms, AI model development, GitHub, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, TensorFlow, Security AI Frameworks, Code & integration testing.
  • AI Engineer domains:
    • Lifecycle: Orchestration & Observability: Skills in managing complex workflows with CI/CD – Orchestration, monitoring AI systems' health & performance. Proficiency in designing, executing, and optimizing robust and scalable orchestrations & workflows.
      • Desired skills: Automation, Airflow, GitHub, & Terraform
    • AI ML Ops: Operational Expertise & DevOps Integration: Experience in deploying, managing, optimising ML models, and integrating AI with robust DevOps practices, alongside designing scalable MLOps frameworks and container technologies.
      • Desired skills: Automation, GitHub, Linux, Docker & Terraform
    • Generative AI: NL, Prompt Engineering & Conversational AI: Manipulate foundation models to get the most accurate and consistent results, helping select the right model for the AI product task. Including supporting Conversational AI Chat Bots & Autonomous Agent development.
      • Desired skills: Automation, Bot & Prompt design, Streamlit, React & Terraform
  • Innovative Thinking: A relentless passion for technology and innovation, paired with a creative outlook to explore new possibilities and solutions.
  • Collaborative & Agile Approach: Outstanding teamwork skills, capable of fostering cross-functional collaboration and effectively engaging with all stakeholders. Adapt quickly to changing environments and drive initiatives with a focus on delivering results.
  • Communication Skills: An ability to communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience, ensuring transparency and understanding across teams.
